I have to say the Dave Ramsey system has changed my life. Nothing has ever impacted my finances more! This is not some fly by night get rich quick scheme. It’s a lifestyle change. We were able to get some extra income recently that helped us make the bills this month. Yesterday we used nearly %100 of my paycheck to pay off a past debt. In the past we would have either blown that extra money or paid a small payment. No, we let it all go, it was bittersweet watching it all go to a single payment, but it paid it off. No more Citi Bank! The motto of the Dave Ramsey system is Live like no one else, so you later you can live like no one else. The concepts are simple and anybody can do them. If you are struggling with debt and have no peace when it comes to finances you need to work this system. We began doing this 2 months ago and we have already paid off all of our unsecured debt, debt that we had been paying on for about a year and a half. Now it’s gone, what a great feeling, peace and joy.

Love and War is a new book by John and Stasi Eldredge. If you are familiar with the other books and message of Ransomed Heart you will find this material very familiar. I have been involved in one way or another with the message of Ransomed Heart for the past 7 years. I have been to Boot Camp in Colorado and have spoken several times at a local version of this same camp. I have read all of the Eldredge books so far. I have been able to bring the message home to my family and it has greatly impacted our lives. For the past several years I wished for a couples version of this message to be taught. It was a deep desire of mine because I had seen the fruit of it in my own marriage. Love and War fills this role quite nicely. There is a DVD series that follows the book and is intended for small group study but could easily be used for a weekend retreat. The content is relevant and will apply to any couple who genuinely wants to seek God in their marriage. More than that it will help couples gain insight into the battle that rages around them and that tries to cause disruptions in their union.

We are currently working through our first Love and War small group and let me tell you, it’s been quite intense. There is nothing like getting committed couples together to do something like this. It has definitely shed a light on the weak spots we all have in our marriage. More than that if offers real hope that there is healing available, deep healing that Jesus desires to bring into our marriages. First, so we can stop injuring one another and more so that we can have freedom to experience the true peace and joy that comes from a couple that has been healed in this way. I can say with confidence that Jesus is ready and willing to bring deep healing to you, your marriage, and your family. This Book and study is an avenue to explore this waterfall in the context of marriage.

The other books by John and Stasi Eldredge are all indented to lead you to a similar place. I would recommend any of them if you are looking for a deeper relationship with the one who rose from the dead. More so if you have the means attend an event, Boot Camp or Captivating. It has been reported by more than one person that it is a life changing experience. I can personally attest to that.

So I am wondering how wrong this is. I am awakened at 3:00AM by the sound of a barking dog across the street, not the first time mind you. As I lay and try to go back to sleep the incessant barking continues… BARK, BARK, BARK, BARK, in a rhythm like a bad RAP track looping over and over. The more I try to tune it out the more it ingrains into my head and then begins to echo in my mind. I then find myself contemplating the many ways to kill a Dog undetected! Dark Chocolate wrapped in Hamburger, A 9mm with a silencer and a laser sight, cyanide….

“And I said, I don’t care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I’m, I’m quitting, I’m going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they’ve moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn’t bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it’s not okay because if they take my stapler then I’ll set the building on fire…” – Milton Waddams, Office Space

Today I learned that NCR paper is the official name for the paper that is used to transfer the writing via a chemical process onto several papers layered under the writing surface. Kind of like Carbon paper but without the carbon. I always called these Carbonless papers but Kinkos informed us and I learned that it’s called NCR paper.

Just FYI:

If you run Computer Janitor on your Ubuntu system don’t let it delete the deb package for VirtualBox as it will wipe out your app and you have to reload! Ugh!
